Panasonic DMR-e55 Not Recording

Panasonic DMR-e55 Not Recording
Hi. Help needed. I can play pre-recorded dvd's, but the machine now refuses to accept the blank recording discs or even play the ones i recorded before (and have watched previously).

Any help greatly appreciated.
