Cool, i've been after one myself, but still trying to convince my wife !
I thought the westgateav price u quoted excluded delivery, was i right i n that assumption??

Keep us informed on how u get on with it.

btw Argos are selling 5 packs of Panasonic DVD-RAM on their website for £14.99 + delivery if that's any use to u.

yes, westgateav price was -delivery
i've found another one for £249 with 25 blank discs included.
http://www.avland.co.uk/panasonic/dmre55/dmr-e55.htm

regarding the dvd-ram, i have some rewritable ones left which i bought
for my LG DVD writer, so i think for the moment the DVD-r will do,
and i can also erase my DVD-Rams after recording onto them and then
transfering to DVD-r on the PC.

will keep u informed how i get on, i think the first major action will be
transfering my VHS tapes (well maybe the best 100 films ) to
DVD-r.

the blank discs will be -r, & cost about £12 from the likes of SVP & Bigpockets, so the DigitalPoint deal still seems the best.
You're lucky u have a DVD-RAM reader, i've been thinking about getting a cheap 2nd hand panasonic dvd player, so i could do all my recording on DVD-RAM (so can edit), then copy them to DVD-r to keep, using the SCART connection between the dvd player & recorder (negating the need for any fancy software). Do u think that would work??
