Help connecting a Sony DVP-NS52P DVD Player to Sky+ HD box?

Hi there I need some help on how to connect my Sony DVP-NS52P to my Sky+ HD box. I currently have the Sky+ HD box connected to my TV via HDMI and on the Sky manual thing it shows you how to connect a DVD recorder to the Sky+ HD box via SCART and then the Sky+ HD box just connects to the tele via HDMI. The problem lies here: In the diagram it shows a RF in/out going from an aerial to the DVD recorder and then from the DVD recorder to the tele...this DVD recorder only has 1 RF in slot.

I don't know what to do. I hope someone can help. THanks

the NS52P you mentioned appears to be just a player , not a recorder

Additionally - that DVD PLAYER does not have an RF in socket.

I can only think you are mixing this up with a Coaxial Digital Audio Out socket.

basically , what you have there is a dvd PLAYER ( the dvp part of the model number ) , and its not a recorder

because it is not a recorder it has no rf input , no rf output and no built in tuner or anything

what you decided was an rf socket is in fact a coaxial output ( phono socket ) and is used to connect to a separate surround sound audio system to get 5.1 surround sound , instead of the more usual stereo sound , so its probably a sound output socket , and not what you said

so several of your presumptions are wrong , the first one being that you thought you had a recorder , which you havent , you have a dvd player

so you can play disks , but cannot record on disks , and cannot connect to your sky box either

if you want a dvd recorder , buy a sony hxd890 or 995 or similar

Oh right okay so in theory then all I need to do is just run the DVD player to the SCART in my tele and not through the Sky+ HD box?
