Which multi-region DVD recorder?

Hi All,

I've not bought any equipment for ages, so I'm well out of the loop, but my parents are looking to buy a DVD recorder and have asked my advice.

Their budget is around £150 and is should preferably be multi-region.

Can anyone please offer any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

DF

Try to up the budget. - It pays.

No machines are multi region from the factory.
They have to be made so by the retailer or yourself.

Always better done by the retailer as it preserves your warranty which is annulled if you do it yourself.

Do you think £200 would do it?

I know what you're saying about multi-region...what I should have said was 'a recorder that's easily available pre-modded or has a handset hack'. Sorry, should have been more clear.

It doesn't have to have amazing picture or sound quality. Ease of use is more important.

Perhaps even a pointer to a good internet retailer who sells multi-region devices might be useful?

I know that back when I used to hang around here there were a few good retailers around that everyone used, but as I say, I'm out of the loop these days, and I haven't a clue where to start.

I would look at a sony hxd7770 , or 790 , or 870 , or 890 or 995 and multi region it yourself with a one for all remote handset , thats what I have done and within your budget

You sure? I have an LG RHT497H from RicherSounds (£164) and when I bought they said it was already multi-region. Or are they wrong?!
