Can anyone help with a problem with my DMR EZ25

It has been working fine for about 2 years and it now does not play any disk. (read error).
I have tried a DVD lens cleaner and nothing.
I have tried to clean the spindle (read from another post) and nothing.

when you insert a DVD you can hear the lens mech banging the end near the spindle (when its trying to read the DVD). Also the dvd does not spin up at this point. It only spins about 1 rotation.

I was wondering if its worth replacing the DVD drive itself and would anyone know where and how much?
