Blu Ray and CRT

I guess this is another one of those stupid BD questions but are there any issues with watching a BD on a SD CRT TV?

Re: Blu Ray and CRT

tv needs the right connections and needs to have the ability to work with the feeds whether interlaced or progressive. Component outputs 'could get' shut down some time in the future...

I think in theory you should be fine, you will obviously need to select the right matching resolution in the BD player, the other thing is connectivity, what input types do you have on your CRT? Not seen too many BD players with scart type outputs...?

If you can hook it up the picture should still be better than DVD as you have more info in the source to begin with, think of it as a really well mastered superbit type DVD.

Re: Blu Ray and CRT

This player has a scart lead, guess I know why now.
Saw it in Currys the other day and it's a nice looking machine (for the money) looks very similar to one of the early Samsung models.

The good thing that acording to an eirlier post, it should have exactly the same picture quality as a player twice its price although I'm not convinced.

S-Video, Scart. I've got my amp connected to the TV via S video and use it to pass the DVD picture.
