Delays to Free Blu-Ray discs from Sony

Apologies if this has been mentioned before but I bought a BDP-S350 on Jan 10th this year and registered for the two free blu-ray discs on line. Had not yet received these so chased Sony today who confirm there is a two week delay to the popularity of the scheme.

What's the number to call on? I only bought my 550 last Sat, but when I registered online they were still offering Casino Royale and Batman Begins...

Did you complete the questionnaire as part of the registration process. Sony told me that no discs will be sent if it is not completed......................they obviously want your personal details as part of the deal.

Re: Delays to Free Blu-Ray discs from Sony

I registered my S350 in late November after buying it as part of the Asda VAT discount weekend. Emailed a couple of weeks ago and they said that BB and CR were out of stock but offered what they said was Spiderman and the POTC trilogy which I accepted. Collected from the local royal mail office today to find Spiderman TRILOGY boxset and the POTC 3 discs but only cellophane wrapped. So i've gone from 2 movies to 6! :D I just contacted via email on their website.

Re: Delays to Free Blu-Ray discs from Sony

Registered and filled in the questioner on 13th Jan. Reading some of the other posts it is 28 working days that was not made clear when I registered.

It's now been 29 working days since I registered and no disks.

I think I will give them a ring on Monday.

So far I've had a package with Spiderman trilogy and POTC trilogy, followed the next day by another with Spidey trilogy, Kingdom of Heaven and The Simpsons Obviously I won't be happy until I get Casino Royale and Batman Begins and shall be calling Watchdog (but not Julia Bradbury) if they don't arrive

Sorry can't agree, Sony have been making this offer on multiple units and should have known what stock to hold but they admitted to me that over 1000 clients awaiting discs on blu-ray players. The offer was supposed to be 28 days not when they can be bothered...good for you that you have yours but they have let down loads of people.

Re: Delays to Free Blu-Ray discs from Sony

I sent them an email last week. I had a reply to say they were looking into it. I mentioned that I had heard that the original discs wern't available and they said that they are still supplying them!

Sounds to me like a mini Hoover fiasco where they offered free holidays but could'nt keep up with the demand.

I've written to watchdog & directly to Steve Dowdle (MD of Sony UK). The people you speak to on the phone aren't Sony staff they're an outsourced call centre run by a company called Sitel and they can do very little (though they have been generally rubbish in handling the matter), we need to embarrass Sony over this level of poor service.

I would contact them again and say that you had problems with the PC to internet registration process (a known issue with Sony) and if it had worked as it should have, you would have registered last month.

Worth giving it a go.

Re: Delays to Free Blu-Ray discs from Sony

I registered my player in the first week of January and have received no free discs. I e-mailed Sony who, after a two week delay, responded as follows:

"Thank you for your recent e-mail received on 09/02/2009 05.53 PM.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the delay in this response.

I have looked into this matter for you and I regret to inform you that there has been a delay due to the fact that we are currently awaiting a new batch of discs to be produced and delivered to us. We currently do not have a definitive time frame as to their arrival, however once we have received these discs we will promptly then send these out to you.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you, however I can assure you that we will endeavour to get these Blu-ray Discs out to you as soon as they arrive.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding in this matter."
