good bluray player to go with my HWWDG800

think the time has come to get rid of my EP30 HD player and go blue ray

need a blu ray player that has its own HD audio decoding in as my sony amp doesn't decode but can take lpcm

can anyone recommend one? reasonably cheap as well

wouldn't mind a sony one as my amp and SD DVD player are sony, so my sony amp remote would work the BD player

cheers

The Sony BDP-S350/550 get good reviews around here, and can be picked up pretty cheaply

Pretty sure the Sony 350 can decode all but DTS-HD-Master Audio and the 550 can do all formats...

BD35/550 have full onboard decoding your HDMI right?

Re: good bluray player to go with my HWWDG800

yep using HDMI

hmmmm so its sounding like the BD35 is the better choice over the sony, since that cannot do DTS (not that i even know what that is! lol)

i dont actually know what needs decoding, just know something must be decoded before it gets to my AMP lol

Will internally decode TrueHD/DTS-MA to PCM and then send over HDMI to your amp.

Yup BD35 is the one you want...

Amazon were the cheapest last time i looked too:

Panasonic DMP-BD35EB-K Profile 2 Blu-ray Disc Player: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Cracking player too, my personal fave of the budget ones.
