Sony BDP-S300 - worth upgrading firmware?

I have a Sony BDP-S300, firmware version 3.90. It can play anything I throw at it, including extras. Of course, there are disks (Dark Knight for one) that take up to one minute to load.
I noticed firmware 4.50 is out, so I ask BDP-S300 owners with version 4.50: does it worth to upgrade to that version? Any significant improvements?
I'm not very keen on upgrading it, as I said it plays everything, but if there are some key benefits, I would take the chance. Thank you.

Hi Rycher.
Then don't good firmware straight out of the box with the Sony so if players running fine there's no rush to update to be honest.
All the best.

Re: Sony BDP-S300 - worth upgrading firmware?

Thanx for answering!
I am very happy with this player as it is, and there are some risks in upgrading so I wouldn't want to screw it. I'll keep it as it is then.

Re: Sony BDP-S300 - worth upgrading firmware?

I upgraded my 300 a month or so back and noticed no improvements (I hoped it might speed up boot time but hey, 140 seconds is fine isn't it!)

Personally I'd only update again if I have an issue with a particular blu ray disc.... firmware updates can go wrong and wreck the player.

My update appeared to have got stuck and didn't go according to the Sony instructions but after waiting 20 more minutes and noting that nothing was happening I unplugged and powering up, the firmware had changed and all worked. 'Phew' I thought to myself
