Dedicated Ble Ray Player or PS3

Hi Everyone
I am brand new to writting on these forums but have enjoyed the advice and reviews the site has provided for years now. I have just taken the plunge - Some would say wrongly so! and purchased a 46W4500, Sony RHT-G1500 to go with an existing PS3 I have (No SONY favouritism at all - just happened that way). I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on whether I should now invest in a dedicated Blu Ray Player or be content with my PS3. My big issues are that I don't understand quality differences and am slighlty annoyed that the PS3 cannot be controlled through the Sony Media Link

I have a cheeky extra question - Whats the best way to set this sytem up as i have SD Sky+? As I have heard varying advice on other posts.

Many thanks in advance for any replies.

By the way -
I got the RHT-G1500 from Play for an amazing £699 (I was looking at the RHT-G900 for £450 from Dixons but thought what the hell!)
I got the 46W4500 with two years warrantly for £1155 from Pixmania (Valentines discount code)

Personally I'd treat the results of the that poll carefully......

You have to take into account the fact that many many people will just say they notice a significant imrovement over their PS3 in order to justify their shiny new standalone BR player

It really depends on your setup and your PQ/AQ requirements. I like watching movies on a big screen and have evaluated a number of players in my own setup including Sony, Panasonic, Denon, Pioneer etc. My latest player is the LX91 but it would be difficult to justify the additional cost based on Blu-ray PQ performance compared to the PS3 (both fully display chain calibrated). For overall operational speed and minimal post processing I still prefer the PS3. Clearly what other products are combined in your setup plus personal taste also has a significant bearing on player choice and associated benefits.
