hi andy
using p/scan mode with a sharp zx91e projector. it gives excellent results with all dvds(gangs of new york, the hunted, quiet american). The picture is very smooth and colour excellent, though the defult settings on the player for colour gives a rather rich image, but this is easily adusted on the player menu.

sound quality is awesome(using denon avc11sr and kef thx system).I only have two dvd-audio discs but these sound far better than when i played them on a pioneer dv656.

Yes it does, and it's awesome.

No firmware upgrade required like the DVD25, it does PAL prog out of the box...

Btw, I agree with Filman, far better than the Pioneer DV656. It's easily the best machine in this price bracket.

Forgot to mention, it's Multi-region as well, you just need to input a simple remote hack and it's permanently Region free

main difference is that the 30 has dvd audio and can be made multiregion with a handset hack, but i was told that the 30 has a better video dac than the 25.
i have had many players(pioneer elites, arcam dv88) and the 30 beats them hands down.
