Help setting up dvd player

I have just purchased a Matsui DVD player MATDVD3307 I am unable to get a DVD picture. I have Sky and a Samsung Flatscreen TV. Any offers of help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.

Hi,
I take it that you have the sky box connected to the tv by Scart,leaving at least one other Scart socket,the Component socket and HDMI's free?

Which series is your Samsung Tv and does the Matsui have an HDMI socket ?
