NTSC to PAL convertor

Hello,

I hope this is the right forum? It is dvd-playback related.

I get a black and white picture when playing R1 dvds on an old tv. Would something like this work:

PlayStation NTSC to Pal Converter NPAL

Has anyone used this device and are they good? Has anyone bought from this shop (or can you recommend any other)?
