Onkyo DV-SP406 vs Blu-Ray (upscaling)

Does anyone know how SD DVD upscaling on the Onkyo DV-SP406 compares to upscaling on the newer Blu-Ray players, such as the Panasonic DMP-BD30/35 or the Sony BDP-S350? Is there a noticeable difference in quality? I'm looking to display on Panasonic 42" Viera Plasma and Panasonic PT-AE900 LCD projector on 77" screen.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, the scaling in both types of player is fairly budget, therefore I dont believe there will be any perceivable difference on either display
