Hi Sean,

I've had one for a few weeks now and i'm very happy with it. I upgraded from a Denon 2800 mk1 and it was definately worth it... colours seem more vibrant, more detail, sharper.

Audio is definately improved over the Denon too.

Cheers

thanks for that...
where did you purchase - there appear to be few myryad dealers and little chance of a bargain!

Is this definitely multi-region/PAL and NTSC progressive out of the box? RCE compliant?

It certainly sounds good from the review. Definitely better than a 2800 mkI also sounds good..

Sean: Got mine from VideoTech in Huddersfield. No movement on price as is was a special order, but extremely helpful and delivered it personally despite being 45mins+ drive away. Ordered on a Tuesday afternoon and had the player Thursday evening!

Jasper: It's pal-prog out-of-the-box and multi region with a remote hack from Myryad. I currently have mine set to "9", region free, and have not had anything refuse to play. IIRC, all superbits are RCE and they play fine. If the worst came to the worst you can always switch region quite easily, but I've not had to...

The bit of paper from Myryad said:

Quote:

Switch unit out of standby and wait for Myryad logo screen to appear
Press OPEN/CLOSE and allow drawer to open fully.
Press digit keys 2 8 1 2 followed by ENTER and "System Information" menu will appear on the TV screen
Use "up arrow" key to highlight region code number.
Press ENTER repeatedly to select the desired region code ("9" = region free). Pressing ENTER from "9" wraps around to "1" again.
Press OPEN/CLOSE again to exit system menu and close tray.
The player is now set to the new region and will now operate with the new regional coding - even if the power is disconnected.

Hi guys, I currently have a Toshiba SD900e on order at the mo, but have read a few reviews about the Myryad Z122 and im extrememly tempted by it.

You say its PAL prog out of the box, does it also do NTSC prog scan ?

And is it worth the money do you think ?

Cheers

Hi Toadie,

Yes it is NTSC prog-scan too... as is any prog-scan player, it's just PAL prog scan that can be a little more elusive.

Had it for close to 6 months now and still very happy.

Thanks Skimber, thats what I thought, but just had to check.

Think I now might get this instead of the Tosh. The tosh doesnt do PAL Prog, and the Myryad is only a oner more.

Although I've only found one place online that sells it and thats av-sales.

Cheers

If you ring Myryad's UK distributor (020 8901 2600) they will tell you your nearest dealer, or mail order dealer. That's what I did I think
