Hi there. Just to check though, are you updating the Harmony with the control settings for the Bush BD01 or the American Insignia player? It needs to be the Insignia settings in order to work, it won't work with the Bush BD01 settings.

Hey mate. What you need to do is add the Blu-Ray player as a device, the model number is Insignia NS-2BRDVD. Basically you have to remember now that the Bush BD01 is dead for all intents and purposes, and what you have is the Insignia NS-2BRDVD so add that and you'll be away.

Racking my brains here.

So just to confirm, you've added the Insignia to your devices, which in turn you have used in your activity? To confirm, ultimately, in no form does the Bush feature in either the devices or the activity?

Hello. The firmware can be found here:

Insignia™ Blu-ray Disc Player with 1080p Output : Insignia

As for the remote, any Harmony remote will be fine. I have the Harmony One myself, best thing I've ever bought,

Bizarre question time.

My player has started to develop an issue when trying to play Region A discs. When I put the disc in it starts to read it and then starts to make what I can only describe as crunching noise.

It literally sounds like tic tic tic crunch tic tic tic crunch and repeats until finally it says Read Error and spits the disc out.

If I then try it again it tends to do it again, before then working on the 3rd of 4th attempt. This is obviously a tad odd. Anyone else have this issue at all?

I really haven't used this player enough to have any issues with it, but a read error sounds like the machine or the laser has kicked the bucket, as it were.

Probably right. Just so odd as it does work evantually, without issue, it's just getting it going in the first place so to speak!

Just been playing around it a bit more and it's so odd, got 4 discs to play in a row without issue and then on the 5th it kicked off again. So annoying.

I would normally consider looking for something else on the cheap but this player ticks so many boxes, particular with the ability to bitstream TrueHD and DTS-HDMA.

Unless anyone is aware of any suggestions?
