I currently use a 5960 and this works fine with a freecom 250gb external 2.5" drive. (its the only drive that ever works)

However, as Currys were giving away the 5980 at £40 I decided to have one, cuz it was shiney black and 1080p It dont accept the hard drive though which is annoying. It was on ....30 FW and I upgraded it .....33 FW which was the latest one but it just says "unsupported"... Ive also tried a few modded FWs by tech25 and off the Softpedia forums but nothing will make it accept the hard drive... which is weird as the 5960 does.. i thought it would just be a straight forward upgrade....

Anybody any ideas what i can do?
