DVD player doubles as cd player

i currentyl have a bit of a dilema. My recent set up was denon AVR1905 amp with a arcam cd7se with Kef floorstanding speakers. This has now lost its home and will have to be under the telly along with a sky box and a broken dvd /hd recorder which only records onto the hardrive. My current thinking is to replace my cd player and dvd recorder with a dvd player (maybe a pioneer DV-LX50) that will give me a quality cd sound and to replace the sky with either sky+ or a suitable alternative to this which will record.
Any suggestions?

I have a cambridge audio dvd99 it sounds quite good for music dvd picture is quite respectable as well!

You haven't mentioned your budget so this may be too expensive but I have the Yamaha DVD-S2700. Plays everything very well indeed (IMO), including SACDs and DVD Audio discs.

The dvd99 plays SACD and DVD audio

it Bitstreams DSD, using HDMI, out to a compatible amp also(Not sure if it sounds better than the anolog outs, but saves on all those wires

Second hand Denon DVD2900s have been going for well less than 200 quid and will easily outperform most players available new at that price. No HDMI, but excellent component outputs which will again be better than most HDMI players! Also a very competent CD, SACD and DVD-A player. I have two of them LOL!
