It maybe on their website, but there is no buy button.........??

Well i cannot find one.

Would this be multi region......??

the only other prices i have found are:

Avland, multi region, £899.99

Sevenoaks S&V, £899.00, R2

The one at nexnix, works out at £622, but says nothing about multi region or p+p...plus as i said...there does not seem to be a buy button.

I would buy one at there price, but there is noway i am buying one for £900....not with denons rep.

Just had a look on the denon web site and cannot find nexnix as an authorised denon retailor...so although the price is good....when it starts going wrong (which it prob will, being a denon) you might be knackered.......denon will not want to know.

This is what it appears to have ended at.

Who's 100% sure that the 2900 will not exibit any of the 'abnormalities' that so many people have experienced with their 2800, MkII, 3800, A1

Hi,

Checked the spec. and no DVI output,(no use for my PJ) ,one would have thought that this feature would be made standard as home cinema market is gaining momemtum!!!

Nexnix are authorised Denon dealers. The web site is out of date.

Ordered my player yesterday. Arrived 8.30am this morning. Great service!

Player sourced from Hayden Laboratories. Packing label / seal on the box.

Region 2 I am afraid. But have been promised hack in the next few days. Made it a condition of sale, otherwise it will be going back.

As for testing I am just in the process of putting together my first HT setup so it will be a few days before the rest of the gear arrives. Will keep you posted.

Despite what has been reported else where I can confirm it plays DVD-R's & VCD not problems at all.

it does not need a 'hack'.
the disk that makes this player pal prog' will also make this player multi region

Does this mean, that you have to send the player back to them, or are they going to send you the firmware disk.......???

Would not think, they will send you a copy of the disk.....that is what the dealers make there money on.

Here's a translation of the german instruction:

1. Take out any discs you may have in the player.
2. Turn off player.
3. Press buttons "STOP", "SUPER AUDIO CD SETUP" and "<<(FR)" all at the same time. Keep these buttons pressed and turn on the player.
4. You'll see "LOADING" in the display. You can let go off the buttons now.
5. Now you have 10 seconds to finish the procedure or you have to start from the beginning. The rest of the procedure is only possible while "LOADING' is being displayed.
6. Press "SUPER AUDIO CD SETUP", "PAUSE" and "|<<(Skip Back)" in this order and hold these.
7. You will see the "VSS Icon" flash in the display.
8. Let go off the buttons and "0:00:00" will be displayed.
9. Turn off the player. When turning it back on PAL progressive will be enabled.

The player is allegedly Pal prog out of the box. I currently don't have a display capable for the test but the menu would idicate that it is.

As for region free it is apparently a remote hack....no firmware disc required.

That button hack, is just to turn the prog scan on thow.......it does not make it multi region.....
I am stuck now.......i would like the 2900, but i want a multi region one......so do i buy from nexnix and hope it is a handset hack, or spend another £70 and get it from Avland already multi region...oh no....decissions.

If i buy from nexnix and it does not turn out to be a remote hack, then i prob gotta pay another £80 to get it modded, by the rip off A/V dealer near me.
But then if i do buy from one of the above dealers, when it goes wrong (if it goes wrong), how much is it going to cost me to send it back to them.

May be i should just bit the bullet and buy it for the full retail price at my local rip off dealer and hope barclay card will refund the diff on their price promise.

OH NO.....i'm starting to get a headache.

I find the words "can you do it multiregion for that price?" always come in handy when buying a dvd player

I find it outragous that there is any charge for region free...with the exception of hardware mods.

₤20 - ₤50 to push a few buttons or drop in a firmware disc???

Most of this info is in the public domain if you know where to look.
