Audio over HDMI on budget DVD player question

Hello there, i wonder if any of you knowledgable types can help me ? I need a new DVD player, costing less than £150. Needs to be multi region but I would like it to send 5.1 audio over HDMI, which my current sammy hd 870 does not, I am led to believe it only sends 2.0 via HDMI. Is this possible?
