Marantz DV4100OSE Worth Fixing?

Hello,

Hoping people can offer an opinion on this.

The player has recently developed a problem where it freezes after variable lengths of time, and has to be turned off for a long time to recover.

When purchased this was really rated as a DVD/CD player, and has been very good, (though DVD is only via scart), but I'm wondering if things have moved on a lot, and if it's worth looking into fixing?

I'll be getting a Blue Ray player soon, and I'm wondering would a decent player, £3 - 400, maybe more, beat it for DVDs and CDs? Would the PS3 for example?

Any opinions much appreciated,
