Pioneer DV-600AV Upscaling picture quality

Hello All,
Can any one help or share their experiences please?
I have a Pan. 42 PX 80B with 125 hours use and I have to say that 1080P upscaled PQ doesn`t blow me away. If I`m honest, I have recently watched a Freeview recording of Saturday nights Dr Who and felt that that was the best picture that I have seen on this TV so far.
Yesterday I took off the HDMI cable and swithched to Component with Prog. Scan and felt if anything that the PQ improved slightly.
All cables are 5* etc and the TV is set up as most peoples judging by what I have read in these Forums.
Many Thanks, Frank.

Sadly Pioneer DV-600 doesn't upscale DVDs very well. It has got serious problems detecting cadences and the result is often poor image quality. However, you could set the output to 576i and see whether your TV has got a superior scaling chip.

Never had a problem with my pio DV600 but i would suggest the same and set it to 576p and see if the TV scales the picture better.

Re: Pioneer DV-600AV Upscaling picture quality

I'm more than happy with the 600 tbh. I have a Pio 428xd and after looking at all the options i eventually settled on the 600 outputting 576i and letting the tv do the work but to be fair there wasn't much in it.
