SVHS to DVD

Thinking of getting a Panny DMR-E50

What is the best way to transfer SVHS video to DVD with maximum picture quality?
Would the scart connection do, or would the direct 'S' connections fair better between VCR and DMR-E50

regards

When I want to do this I just hook my SVHS up to AV2 on the DVDR with a QED Scart. Gives a perfectly acceptable picture. I put around 100 minutes of Video on each DVD-R.

Do do the very same thing I've been using S-Video from my JVC S-VHS VCR into the E30. Seems to work a treat.
