HELPPPPPPPP me please,im a div :)

hi all,im either very thick or my upscaling dvd player isnt working.ok down to business,,i have a swisstec j-lcd tv 32 inch(not the best but it was all i could afford at the time,boo-hoo) and have just bought a wharfedale hdmi dvd player ds-a243(today) and for some reason it isnt picking up the hdmi player,it works on scart,ive set up the hdmi through the scart lead then tried the hdmi,but alas all i get is a big fat nothing,its starting to wind me up now,lol.anyway if anyone can help me that would be great,thanks a lot.pete.

I don`t know the LCD ,but have you changed the TV `s input to HDMI???And daft question , are you using HDMI lead ??

hi thanks for your speedy reply,yes i have changed the input or output on the tv to hdmi,and yes i am using a hdmi lead,i have tried it using a scart lead and it works fine,but as soon as i try and use the hdmi lead,nothing,im baffled,even my partner who is pretty clued up on these matters is baffled.anywayim away again and thanks again,pete

Probably a handshaking issue. Turn both off and then turn on the tv first switch to hdmi and then put the player on. Then try the other way and put the player on first then the tv.

Can the swisstec tv receive an upscaled pic,and what resolution is the whafdale outputting?

thanks ian p.the matter is fixed now,im well pleased with the picture,i cant imagine what blue ray is like,maybe ill try it one day

That's good. I get it occasionally myself when switching between digital and analogue inputs from the same player. I have to everything off and then on again to pick up the hdmi connection.
