Macrovision

I think the sun has effected my brain as I feel I should know the answer to this.

If I play a SVCD in my DVD player will I be able to record it on a video tape, or will macrovision kick in?

I believe there are one or two players out there of chinese origin that have macrovision permantly enabled what ever disc you put in. Generally though 99% of all dvd players only switch on macrovision if the disc itself has a macrovision enable flag in its video files to enable it. VCD and SVCDs don't have such a flag as far as I know. Make sure you set the dvd player to PAL if you want to record them though.
