Re: Denon A1XVA v. Arcam DV139

I suppose it depends what your using it with,if i had other Denon/Arcam components i would use their players, otherwise it's personal choice,i personally prefer the Denon and would even have the 3930 if used with a denon link receiver.

I'll be starting from scratch but am waiting on a Pioneer LX508D.

Re: Denon A1XVA v. Arcam DV139

I would have to say the Arcam is the better machine, but with owning one my views are slightly biased....

Basically the DV139 is arguably one of the best, if not the best SD DVD/CD one box players available, even audiophiles only need one machine lol.

Re: Denon A1XVA v. Arcam DV139

I'd agree that the Arcam is the better player. With an all-Denon system the DigitalLink from the A1 does provide the best performance a Denon amp can possibly produce, but I've tried a DV139 6-ch to an AVR350 and compared CD, SACD, DVD-A and DVD movie and still preferred the audio from the Arcam combo. I'll admit to some bias to how Arcam do things and the sound they produce, but I think a lot of neutrals(!) would definitely agree. I was very surprised given the difference in prices (although the Denon amp in this case does have 10 power amps, a video processing chip, audyssey, and is the size of a small bungalow).
