Best DVD player sub £50

Looking to get a dvd player for my dad. Was going to get the tosh 370 but too many people seem to have the freezing issue so I'm looking for a different brand

HDMI would be nice but not essential, just want half decent PQ and player that doesn't freeze!!

I recently bought a Philips 5960 and am more than happy with it. Remote sensitivity is my only real gripe-you have to point it exactly at the right spot or nothing happens.
HDMI too.

Hi, just bought a Pioneer DV400-K from scan computers for the princely sum of £52.82 and free postage for AV forum members.

Don't be confused with the £70 plus price shown, it drops when you add it to your basket. This is one hell of a player at that price. I'm still smiling

Damm, just check and indeed the price has gone up again, sorry. However the free postage is still useful for that or any other item from them

I got the DV400 last week for £52.82 also, it comes up now and again on Today Only. The DV600 is usually on offer at the same time for around £80 if memory serves me.
