Would Share but don't have.

My SE Link Player had to go back for upgrade as Denon are telling the sellers that only they must do any firmware upgrades. This is due to the SE link passing copyright material over it and part of the license requires Denon to keep tight control i.e. no end users doing upgrades.

The upgrade works fine though.

Sorry I could not be any any further help.

I think Ben @ Discount TV has this firmware, but only seems to be installing it on new A1's when people buy from them (i.e. he/they haven't released it publically)

As denon are making this a dealer only upgrade - Can you not contact your Denon dealer and get them to do it for you?

You could try PM'ing benji_m (Ben Miller) and see if he can help

JJ

@ Phil
We already had this discussion (twice I think). The argument doesn't count...

@ JJ
I already mailed TV Discount twice. They didn't even bother answering my mails.

hence your "and shares" comment

maybe a PM would be better than email?

I don't wanna drive people mad with my personal problems... So I think I'm gonna buy a hardware mod in about a week or so. Then the nightmare is over (I am looking for this bloody firmware since the end of november).

Cheers,
Chris

Why carn't you just just get it back to the supplier. If its Discount TV then just ring Ben and he will be more than happy to sort it out. I always phone as I believe in building personal relationships with people.

As I probably said before be very careful with Hardware mods as not all work as advertised and once this is done you will lose Denon support.

Phil,

I'd love to but I can't.

I don't live in the UK anymore and here in Germany (old Europe ) no one - no dealer, not even Denon - has this firmware.

My next destination is Canada - and believe me: No one gives sh@t for MR in Canada...

You see, the problem isn't to call anybody up... It's the distance!

Chris

My applogies I was unaware of you location and I see what you mean.

I still think it may be worth ringing Ben and expalining your plight to see what he can do. I would hope in your circumstances they could make an special case.

Send it to a trusted friend in the UK who will return unit to Denon on your behalf, receive returned unit, check it and then forward it onto you?

I'm sure if you agreed that this course of action was OK with the chaps from Denon it would be your best bet.
