PS3 Profile 1.1 & DivX playback comming tommorrow

- DivX y VC-1 WMV (WOOOOOT) are now compatible. *
- The system is now compatible with the Profile 1.1 Blu-ray Disc. **
- A [BD data tool] option has been added ***

- To play VC-1 (WMV) files you will need to select the option [Activate WMA reproduction], available in the Settings > System Settings
- It's not possible to play copyrighted files or files compressed with DivX 3.11
- It's not possible to play files bigger then 2GB

- Now you have several additional features, like the simultaneous reproduction of the videos in the Blu-ray Disc compatible with the 1.1 Profile. The available features vary depending on the disc.

What's happened to the link to PS3 GB? I can only find 2.01 on the site. That other forum is a laff, how many people don't know about BD profiles, LOL! Nor have any idea what the opposition is up to. I't'll be great to see 1.1 on a BD though, my kids love the HD DVD stuff. I just might have to buy a PS3....

Sony have pulled the info from the UK, French and Spanish sites.
You are right, few people, will have any idea what 1.1 is about, Pip is irrelevant to 99% of people so its not surprising. NeoGAF is a top gaming forum. |

This may sound like a silly question, but what DivXs bigger than 2GB do you have? I don't use divx myself, but when you compress a DVD, isn't it usually smaller than 2GB? Or is it possible to make divxs from hd media? |

Yes you can make HD DivX. the size limitation is not FAT32 - thats 4Gb. Its probably to stop HD pirating. |
