Yes, you're right - I must admit I didn't read the first post correctly (

), but I still reckon that he's better with a single digital cable, co-axial or digital, to his amp and letting that do the decoding and amplification, which must be better than a spaghetti junction of analogue cables from the DVD player to the amp, as any AV amp he buys nowadays with 5.1 analogue inputs is going to have digital inputs anyway.
