DVP5960 cutting out playing avi from external hard drive

Hi

I am watching some (divx)avi movies on an external hard drive.

They play fine, but at some point i.e after 1hr 54mins, they stop playing.

I can't work out why.
It will play all my files, but after a certain time, different for some movies, it just stops.

These movies play fine, all the way to the end on my computer, so there doesn't seem to be any problems with them.

Anyone else come across this or heard of this?

All advice welcome cheers

To be honest I've never come across this before but I've probably never watched much that is 1hr 54 minutes long.
How many files are doing this?
I do occasionally get the odd divx that may have an encoding glitch, which will play fine on a PC, as in the picture will digitise briefly and then continue without a hitch whereas on the player, it will just give up and stop when it hits the glitch.
Although this is very rare so may not be the same issue...........

Re: DVP5960 cutting out playing avi from external hard drive

It has happened now with three films.
Tv shows are fine, but it is seeming to be something with long films.

I am going to look into it it a bit more, this week, though since the divx films don't have chapters I have to sit there and fast forward to find the spot.

Very annoying, but determined to get to the bottom of this as don't want to go back to the slow process of converting and burning to dvd...
