9900se TE mode

can anyone tell me what the TE mode is for and what it does on the limit 9900se dvd player (or TE mode on any dvd player??

it adds an effect everytime you change a chapter/press play etc.

Put it on either slow or soon and then go change chapters on a disc,you get a slighly different video effect each time,fade in/square box /cut from left to right etc.
