Why can't i turn the subtitles off?

On Cyberhome 528, i turn them off using the remote but at the beginning of every chapter the subtitles come on again. Any ideas?

What DVD is it?

Some DVD's has "forced" subtitles. One of the reasons i don't by DVD's here in Norway anymore.

On some DVD's you have to select subtitles of in the meny before the movie starts.

This a known side-effect of switching subtitles using the remote during playback. I have found it to be common on R1 titles, less so on R2 and R4. As Magking says, it is best to use the subtitle menus.
