Quick Help and Advice

Just got a 50" Panasonic Plasma tv and it isnt full HD.

I want to get a decent dvd player and get a decent hdmi cable to go with it.

I would love a full home theatre system right now, but i dont think i can afford it (although some are like 150 on curry's but i dunno if they are any good) So any advice on decent dvd players under 75 quid?

It also has to be able to play multi region dvds. im not worried about mixing and matching brands either.

Thanks

Re: Quick Help and Advice

Save up for a seperates system, much better quality. As for DVD go for this or a similar Denon.

if thats the 5960 that means you have not payed the premium for 1080p
thats what i was trying to avoid.

big threads on the philips in here and happy owners.

there is modded firware and lots of them
http://www.phunkyfish.com/article/4/philips-dvp-596012
so i would say a good choice in whats availabe at this time.

i tend to look for players that do none standard video resolutions as well as the standards
i just think that the more options you have the better chance at finding what looks right to your eye.

Re: Quick Help and Advice

Glad you're pleased. Just a few years ago we would have paid six times that amount for comparable picture quality.
