Am I being impatient?

Ordered a 981 wednesday and was told by James ( crt) that it should be with me today. I took the day but it never arrived. I phoned James at 2pm and he confirmed it had been shipped yesterday. I asked if the address was right but he hadnt taken the number although I gave him the poscode as well. He said he would chq with CIty Link and ring me back. So far nothing. Mmmm , maybe I should wait till monday but i am self employed and cannot afford to take days off willy nilly.

It's for the benefit of the sender to make sure you've received the item!

"Should" doesn't sound like a definite next day delivery. You can have guaranteed next day deliveries, or 1-2 day deliveries etc. I very much doubt a guaranteed next day delivery would be used by most vendors, unless requested by yourself. 1-2 day deliveries often do arrive next day, but don't count on it. Nevertheless, very annoying, especially in your circumstances.

Hope it comes today.

T.

Re: Am I being impatient?

I have emailed them again today so I shall await a reply, The bloke who took my oreder( James) seemed a bit vague when i spoke to him about hte address that is. seemed to have a street name but no number( which I obviously always give),town plus post code. One wouldnt ship an item without havibg either a house name or number. Prior to talking to him i'd also emailed him and got no reply.

Re: Am I being impatient?

I now check with any supplier whether they use City Link and if they do, take my business elsewhere. Perhaps an extreme case, but they have persisted in trying to deliver to the wrong address, despite all attempts to point out their error.

I wouldn't imagine for one minute that CRT are at fault. There are too many of us on here that have had positive dealings with them for them not to be bonafide.

I'd say the problem is with the carriers tbh.

Re: Am I being impatient?

I've just made an order for an Oppo too. Made mine of Friday, and was told it should arrive Tuesday next week. I must admit that I was a bit concerned when they said it would be sent by City Link. Only last week I ordered Guitar Hero 2 from Simply Games, and they also sent it by City Link. It was posted out on Wednesday, and I didn't receive it till Wednesday the week after. In my (bitter) experience, couriers tend to be terrible. I may be biased as I'm a postman for Royal Mail (please, don't hate me) though. In the past I've had parcels sent via DHL from Amazon that took 3 weeks of them "attempting" to find my house, claiming they had left cards (which they hadn't), then sending the parcel back to Amazon, then finally delivering the parcel, opened, and with the contents damaged. Now, I always try to make sure that things are sent by Royal Mail or Parcel Force. If not, I specify the delivery address as the Post Office I work out of. In most cases couriers can actually find the place. Mind you, they probably stop and ask a postman, which happens to me regularly when out on a round. Unfortunately, a lot of companies will only deliver to the address where your credit card is linked to.
Anyway, I hope you get your player soon La Gran Siete. I hope I get mine on Tuesday too, as I've got the next week off work!

Re: Am I being impatient?

So what's happened? Have you got your player yet, or at least found out what City Link have done with it?

I recently ordered an Oppo 981 from crt over the phone, I confirmed the delivery address via email (just in case they had misheard my address).
I got a confirmation email as soon as it was dispached and received the 981 by about 1.00PM next day(via city link).

No problems here.

Re: Am I being impatient?

UPDATE

Just had a call to say my Oppo arrived this morning. So three days from Sweden, which is exactly what they said.
