I have an imported Pioneer 606 DVD player that has served me well for the last couple of years. However, as this is an imported player, it doesn't have any RGB scart sockets. I'm about to take delivery of the new Sony KP44PX2 rear projection TV and it has 2 x RGB scarts. The only connections I have on the Pioneer are the usual phono video and audio L+R sockets plus a set of component sockets. Is there any cable which can be run from the components to the RGB scart socket or are these totally incompatible?
If I can't then I'll have to buy a new DVD player just for the scart socket. That'd be a shame as this is a really good player.
Please advise... your comments would be much appreciated.

Doesn't the player have an S-Video output? If so you should be able to configure one of the scarts to s-video.

I tried a svideo to scart connector on my 606 and it sucked, if your TV has svideo just connect it to that, it is as good as scart....

I used an IXOS s-video to SCART from my 606 to Sony CRT TV and it was fine (far better than composite). s-vid to s-vid should also be fine.

I don't know what Big Al's problem was but I also had an s-video to scart lead and it worked well on my 606.

Component outputs aren't compatible with RGB
