I've been trying to set up my Samsung DVD R-136 for a while now. I have quality cables.
Current set up is Toppy PVR - Scart input on DVDR - HMDI out to Panny TX 32-LXD60
This is because I can't get the Sammy to pass through a RGB signal when it's off and when it's on the HDMI takes over the output
I get noticeable scanning lines (like ripples moving up the screen) when I'm watching the Toppy signal this way. I've tried all resolutions and its the same. I don't get this on straight RGB Scart signal.
On one occassion the DVD player got really really hot - almost too hot to touch and the HDMI signal dropped, I just got a pulsing screen of white noise. Then I turned it off and it cooled down and started working again.
My question is.
A. Does anyone know if I can stop the rippling effect?
B If not then what's the best position to play at Comet? I bought it about 10 days ago and I think I'd like to pay the extra £50 for the Panasonic DMREZ25.
Thanks a lot.
