Upscaling projector queston

Ive just bought a Samsung DVD-HD860 from Bentalls for £75, I couldnt turn it down at that price!

My question is when i connect it via component to my projector will it upscale? as far as i know its not a hd projector.

Many thanks

Re: Upscaling projector queston

If its not a HD projector there doesn't seem any point in upscalling as the PJ will only have to downscale it again.
2 lots of processing will only degrade the original picture.

Re: Upscaling projector queston

I'm not sure if it will upscale via component, im sure there where some rules with the dvd forum. I think upscaling is only possible via hdmi and vga, but i could easily be wrong.

Id your PJ is only standard resolution it would probably look best without any upscaling anyway as you pj will then have to scale it back down.

Sorry offtopic, but I have to say .. thats a pretty bad deal.

This is a newer model of the same player + a few quid cheaper.

Take it back and get the newer model whilst you still can
