Upscaling Region 1 (NTSC)

Just a quickie,

Will a Region 2 DVD Player (made Multiregion) output a progressive upscaled signal for a Region 1 DVD?

Reason I ask, is I want to get a HDMI capable player to go with my new LCD TV but about 50% of my DVD's are Region 1. I'm hoping to get the benefit for both Region 1 and Region 2.

I've been waiting for the Tosh 370 (or 372?) but this potential issue just occured to me whilst picking at my belly button fluff

Cheers

Re: Upscaling Region 1 (NTSC)

It depends on the player you get mate.

Mine will take PAL DVDs and output them at 720p50hz and will output NTSC DVD's at 720p60hz.

Can you suggest which ones do (or do not)?

Any upscaling player that can be made multi-region should do what mine does.
