have I made a mistake ?

Hi my DVD player broke last week and I went into Ritcher sounds to get another one.
after a brief discussion with a member of staff I walked out with a Cambridge audio dvd 86.
now Iam having secound thoughts about it, maybe I should have spent a bit more money on a oppo.
I was also considering going for the Tosh HD E1 but I think the price will drop soon.
would Ritcher Sounds take the DVD 86 back?

Dave.

Why do you think the OPPO would be better?
Have you tried the Cambridge and found it wanting?

Re: have I made a mistake ?

On the Dvd 86 the picture is too bright I have turned the contrast down two notches but it is still the same.
I have heard good reports about the oppi but have never seen it working.

Dave.
Is there a menu for adjusting the brightness on the Player?
On my Denon 1730 you can adjust brightness, colour, sharpness and gamma.
I'm sure, but am often wrong, that there must be the provision to adjust it to your taste.
This is a good player, and if the OPPO was any better (?), it would be in a very subtle way.

Re: have I made a mistake ?

I will try the THX optimiser to see if it can be improved.
Thanks

Dave.
