Sony to Pioneer plasma HDMI problem

I have connected my Sony DVDr 860 to my Pioneer plasma box via HDMI
The picture I get up is all reg and yellow and flickering like no tomorrow.
I have played with settings on both machines with no luck. Experts, please help!!!!
