Exclamation toshiba dvd 360 upscale player

has anyone had upscale 'freezing' iam on my second within 3 months the first froze of 1080i and was ok on others, froze for 3 to 5 seconds, NOT at any chapter points nore on the disc change over half way, these happen at anytim, frezze picture as a 'still' perfect/ and sound also!
the present one has froze twice after only 3 dvd uses, and froze on 720p and 1080i I suspected the 'region hack' with my first,as I was amazed to have this happen to a 'new' product in this way, my present one has not been 'hack' ( with the remote) so ????????
anyone????

Re: toshiba dvd 360 upscale player

I'm finding it difficult to see what you're asking in your poll. I have a Tosh SD360E but it's not a 'Hi-Def' player.

I bought it as a cheapy interim player until the Hi Def format situation starts to head in one direction or the other. I'm more than happy with the Tosh, for the price it's very good indeed.

Re: toshiba dvd 360 upscale player

hi; my 'poll' is to see what others think of the quality of these 360 dvds against high def(if they have compared) I have and there is not a vast differance to warrant the 1000k price for say a ''blue ray''!

Re: toshiba dvd 360 upscale player

HD DVD / BD are in a different league to good DVD if you have the right kit / situation, compared to a 'modest' player like the Tosh, well I am not sure you need a poll for that.

On a suitable display there is a vast difference between Hi-Def DVD and upscaled DVD. As Nic said, you don't need a poll to confirm that.

Re: toshiba dvd 360 upscale player

Its a good player for the money and when the Hi-Def formats sort themselves out it'll be moved to one of the bedrooms. I multiregioned mine myself ,never had any freezing problems but I know its not the ultimate in PQ. It'll do until the Hi Def formats sort themselves out.

Re: toshiba dvd 360 upscale player

hi;
UPDATE
Back to the problem with drop out, thats the tech term for this freezing, its caused as iam told by hdmi cable problem in dvd player, easy to put right by toshiba, they do a firewire up date in there tech dept, it is it seemas now a common problem? anyway the 3rd dvd player has stopped this..after the 'mod'. ps; the lenght of the hdmi cable also has a effect on this and in some cases cannot be cured?
