Tosh 220 questions

Checked the firmware using zoom,6,0,6,zoom and it confirms that it is V1.5, however it also says R2 on the same line.
This was bought as a multiregion player, have i a problem? i have no R1 discs as yet to test it with.
The player is the only device connected to the TV via RGB scart and it causes the other pictures to "twitch" when there is power to the DVD.
Can the "twitch" be cured or will I have to use S-Video as with my other devices?

On some tv's you can resolve the "twich"by just using s-video on the scart. But you'll have to compromise with the lower picture quality.

Zog - did you buy this machine from leconcepts?

I have just ordered and taken delivery of a 220 from them - and the dozy gits have shipped out a R2 only, firmware 1.4 player! Either they haven't checked what they're sending out or they are hoping punters won't notice!

Everyone around here says their service is exemplary and don't go near Techtronics, but I never had a problem with the one and only player I ever bought from them. Ironically, it was as a result of recommendations here that I went with leconcepts.

Not happy at all.

No mate

it was Richer Sounds..... £135.
No probs at all with the machine itself really, as I think the twitch is the signal down the scart lead thing.

Have you tried region 1 DVDs or are you just going by what it says when you look for the firmware? I don't think you should have any problem with them changing it, but you may have to pay shipping. Let us know how you get on...

We if he's ordered a multi region player and they've only sent him a region 2 then he doesnt have to coff up for the shipping!

Snyphr - damn straight!

Called them today with the tale of woe. They "can't understand how this happened, sir"...blah, blah, spiel.

Anyhow they are swapping my useless player with a replacement 220E once I get back from hols on Sep 2. They "categorically assure" me it will be multi region, RCE OK and firmware 1.50.

We shall see in a week or so.

Delorian - Yes I tried several R1 titles, thanks anyway.

Taking the P*** ??!!

Well, well, here we go again.

Called leconcepts.com today when replacement player didn't arrive - and guess what - you'll never get it...

"..sorry sir, we don't know anything about this....errr.....our manager must have arranged this....err...not booked in our delivery logs...etc etc"

This is pathetic. So I bitched some more and was then told that I couldn't have a player delivered tomorrow because "the warehouse doesn't open tomorrow"

WHAT??

So I am "definitely" receiving a replacement 220E on Wednesday. I'll give out odds now it won't be multiregion or firmware 1.5! If this isn't right I'm getting my money back and will for damn sure not be recommending leconcepts anywhere anymore.

Update to follow Wednesday evening...
