Lidl Silverline DVD Player

Link below - seems like a good deal - does anyone know if it will play DIVX and .avi files etc

Divx is not listed in the spec nor is there a logo on the front so my guess would be no.

Cheers - wasnt sure if firmware could be downloaded to enable divx playback ?!?

If it doesnt already have the chipset inside then a firmware upgrade wont do anything.

If you mean the Silvercrest player at £19.99. I have had one for a few months and they are fantastic (remote takes a few days to get used to). It doesn't do DiVX.

The player in August was the £20 Silvercrest (I have one). A HDMI model at Lidl's didn't exist back then.

Read on a forum that there was a Silvercrest with HDMI and USB interface for sale recently in Ireland at around £40, similar I think to the Aldi Tevion 8000 but possibly a bit better. Not sure thought if it did have HDMI interface. If its this one then it doesn't seem to have one
