just bought the Samsung HT-THQ25. It plays shop bought dvds fine, yet when I try to play a dvd-r i get the error message "play prohibited check disc". I have 2 other dvd players, a sharp and a bush and they all play fine..I was under the impression from the shop it would play everything dvd-r/rw cd-r/rw and so forth.

Any Ideas as to what the problem could be

That's usually the sort of error you get when you try to play a DVD from a different region than the one your player is locked to. Is you player region free?

well I thought that.so I tried one of my region 1 discs and it came up wrong region code
