Hi fellas,
In your opinion, what would be a really good DVD player for use with a CRT in interlaced mode? The TV is a Sony 29” CRT with no progressive scan.
Currently, am using a cheap Sony DVD Player (DVP NS-50P) connected with Mark Grant component cables.

Would I see a noticeable difference if I upgraded to say a Denon 2200/2900 used in interlaced or would it be waste of money and I should stick with the cheaper Sony.

Am told that since the screen is less than 32 inches, the better quality DVD players would not give any picture improvement, hence the cheapie will do just fine.

What about sound? Will sound leap forward or stand still? Using a coaxial cable from player to amp.

My Amp is the Denon AVR 3803.

I got a 14 quid DVD player (ACL Brand) to feed it. It has component and progressive out but I did not have a spare set of component cables so am using only a cheap composite cable.

I must say that I cannot tell any big difference from the cheap player with composite to my old Sony progressive player via component.

Why not save the money and get a nice new plasma display a few months later (when they will be even cheaper!).
