Pio 868 - Can I turn off sound via HDMI?

I've got a Pio 969avi ( 868 ) and I'm hoping I can disable the sound output via HDMI.

I have the HDMI from the Pio directly into the display, and also a coax connection to my AVR. When playing a DVD, I get my suround sound via the AVR ( as expected ), but I also get audio via the display. I can drill down into the TV menu and disable the sound, but then I have to enable it again later to use the TV.

Ideally, Id like to stop the DVD from outputting audio via the HDMI link.

Any thoughts?

I have a Pio 868 but use iLink for audio to my amp (a Pio AX10Ai).
When iLink is active it disables all other audio outputs, so mutes audio on my HDMI connection to my plasma. When my amp is switched off I then get audio via HDMI to my display. This works very well for me but only a solution for you if your amp has iLink.

rhino2k - although the mute button does turn off the sound, it also overlays a 'Mute' graphic on the display, which detracts from the HT experience.

TheCrow - it doesn't help me at the moment, but it is good to know, as an ilink compatable reciever is something I plan to upgrade to.

If you don't want the graphic, just turn the tv sound down to 0.

Although it would work, you still have to turn it down then up depending on whether you want audio or not.
I was hoping someone had a way of turning the audio off at the player, as I don't use the display for audio when I watch a DVD.
