DVD Player for Sanyo Z4

Hi

I am fed up with the picture shift on my Sony NS92 despite being able to shift the picture manually (after shift no 253 you get a bit fed up!)

Anyway I am either going to sell it or try and get a refund but the question is which player to buy as a replacement. I think the Z4 has a shaper picture with hdmi rather than component but am open to suggestions? I would go for the Denon 1920 but dont want to risk lip sync.

Thanks

Anyone?

I was thinking of either the new Pioneer 696 or the Marantz 6600

I'm sure either would be great, but why not get something like the new pioneer dv490 as a temp machine and then get HD DVD later in the year (or import if you can't wait)

Hi Mep

I could get the 490 but am keen to explore if a Faroudja chip will make a drastic difference to my picture. At the moment I am feeding the Z4 with a 576p signal by component and letting the z4 do the upscaling, therefore I am leaning towards the Marantz.

If I could have a HD DVD player that would be great but I am reluctant to spend a £1,000 and end up in the VHS/Betamax scenario. Once there is one format then I will take the plunge but at the moment £1,000 is alot of money to back the wrong horse.

Any other ideas?
