Power up problem on Sony NS92

Hi

Got the Sony NS92 installed ... looks lovely (even with the picture shift) ... but after I turned it off the first time it wouldn't power up.

After some head scratching it only powers up when the HDMI cable is unplugged. What madness is this?

I am connecting the player to a Sony 17" LCD screen MFM-HT75WS with an HDMI to DVI cable....

What on earth could be stopping the player from powering up. I don't want to use the component leads as I think the picture is much better via HDMI-DVI.

I have also tried different scaling settings via HDMI, but the only variable is the lead being plugged in.

Anyone got any ideas?

Shadow

Have you tried connecting just by normal scart and seeing if the problem is still there?

Yes, in effect, there is no scart on the LCD, but once the HDMI jack is out, it powers up fine, very odd....works ok when i connected with component leads.
