Good Component DVD player

Hi Guys,

Getting very confused looking into a new DVD player.

I am currently using the component switching on the Denon 1906 Amp and have a 10m Component cable running to the projector. Not really looking to change this, as even the girlfriend can use it , so I am looking for a good Component DVD player.

I was thinking of the Marantz DV6600 as all other reviews of it are good. Not interested in DIVX, DVD Audio or SACD. Just want one that looks and sounds good with DVD's until I invest in a HD Player. Was considering the Sony NS92V as it got a good write up with component but the Marantz should be better.

Thoughts and Comments?

I find the best players for progressive scan component duties are those which contain the enhanced DCDi by Faroudja® video —
"Allowing 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down for the sharpest possible video without jagged diagonals, color and sharpness enhancers, noise reducers, and a videophile-grade scaler."

This is probably the best de-interlacer currently found in mid-priced DVD players in my opinion and removed much of the annoying traits of fixed pixel displays such as 'jaggies' (staircased lines) and picture noise. I believe many of the Denon range has the Faroudja as does the Marantz you mentioned. Pick a player which contains this and you can't go far wrong.
